Volunteer: Help a person with special needs & work with horses!Join us for a season of fun and smiles! We are in need of volunteers with horse experience (to assist with leading horses) and with those that want to help out our riders (horse experience is not required!) Our primary need is to assist our riders with their adaptive horseback riding lesson. Sidewalkers stay near the rider, giving assistance by supporting them on the horse, giving cues on tasks, and reinforcing the instructor's lessons. Horse experience is not necessary, just the willingness to work near them and the ability to walk in an arena or on the trail for an hour at a time. We also need those with horse experience to assist by leading our riders in class. Our classes are held Mondays through Thursdays only. May through Halloween we have afternoon / evening classes (3:30 pm - 8 pm). We are flexible in the times that our volunteers come out - so we will love the help, even if it is just an hour or 2. Our riders love to come out and enjoy their time with horsie friends, please come out and join us to make their experience safe and enjoyable!
