Building Community Campsites at Salvatierra Farms
Salvatierra Farms is looking for volunteers to help construct community campsites on the farm. We will be working completely outdoors, clearing underbrush for campsites and constructing wooden platforms to host wall tents. Those volunteering in May can expect to be clearing campsites, leveling the ground, and digging holes for the foundation of campsite platforms. Volunteers in June might overlap with some ground leveling and digging but our hope is to focus on building 2 foot tall camping platforms for wall tents, this means working with power tools to drill, saw, and assemble wooden platforms.
Volunteers are invited to sign up for full 4 hour days 9:30 am-1:30 pm or 2 hour shifts, from 9:30-11:30am or 11:30 am-1:30 pm. Folks volunteering are encouraged to bring water, a snack, a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray.
This is a working volunteer job, so while we would love for your whole family to come help, we are asking that volunteers bring a pleasant work attitude, be at least 15 years of age, and feel confident in their abilities to work for an extended period of time.
You can sign-up for this volunteer opportunity one of 2 ways.
